That is a simple rule, and easy to remember. When I, a thoughtful and unblessed Presbyterian, examine the Koran, I know that beyond any question every Mohammedan is insane; not in all things, but in religious matters. When a thoughtful and unblessed Mohammedan examines the Westminster Catechism, he knows that beyond any question I am spiritually insane. I cannot prove to him that he is insane, because you never can prove anything to a lunatic--for that is a part of his insanity and the evidence of it. He cannot prove to me that I am insane, for my mind has the same defect that afflicts his. All Democrats are insane, but not one of them knows it; none but the Republicans and Mugwumps know it. All the Republicans are insane, but only the Democrats and Mugwumps can perceive it. The rule is perfect: in all matters of opinion our adversaries are insane. When I look around me, I am often troubled to see how many people are mad. To mention only a few: The Atheist, The Theosophists, The Infidel, The Swedenborgians, The Agnostic, The Shakers, The Baptist, The Millerites, The Methodist, The Mormons, The Christian Scientist, The Laurence Oliphant Harrisites, The Catholic, and the 115 Christian sects, the Presbyterian excepted, The Grand Lama's people, The Monarchists, The Imperialists, The 72 Mohammedan sects, The Democrats, The Republicans (but not the Mugwumps), The Buddhist, The Blavatsky-Buddhist, The Mind-Curists, The Faith-Curists, The Nationalist, The Mental Scientists, The Confucian, The Spiritualist, The Allopaths, The 2000 East Indian sects, The Homeopaths, The Electropaths, The Peculiar People, The---- But there's no end to the list; there are millions of them! And all insane; each in his own way; insane as to his pet fad or opinion, but otherwise sane and rational. This should move us to be charitable towards one another's lunacies. I recognize that in his special belief the Christian Scientist is insane, because he does not believe as I do; but I hail him as my mate and fellow, because I am as insane as he insane from his point of view, and his point of view is as authoritative as mine and worth as much. That is to say, worth a brass farthing. Upon a great religious or political question, the opinion of the dullest head in the world is worth the same as the opinion of the brightest head in the world--a brass farthing. How do we arrive at this? It is simple. The affirmative opinion of a stupid man is neutralized by the negative opinion of his stupid neighbor no decision is reached; the affirmative opinion of the intellectual giant Gladstone is neutralized by the negative opinion of the intellectual giant Newman--no decision is reached. Opinions that prove nothing are, of course, without value any but a dead person knows that much. This obliges us to admit the truth of the unpalatable proposition just mentioned above --that, in disputed matters political and religious, one man's opinion is worth no more than his peer's, and hence it followers that no man's opinion possesses any real value. It is a humbling thought, but there is no way to get around it: all opinions upon these great subjects are brass-farthing opinions. It is a mere plain, simple fact--as clear and as certain as that eight and seven make fifteen. And by it we recognize that we are all insane, as concerns those matters. If we were sane, we should all see a political or religious doctrine alike; there would be no dispute: it would be a case of eight and seven--just as it is in heaven, where all are sane and none insane. There there is but one religion, one belief; the harmony is perfect; there is never a discordant note. Mark Twain: Much of what people do is done in the name of God. Irishmen blow each
other up in his name. Arabs blow themselves up in his name. Imams and
ayatollahs oppress women in his name. Celibate popes and priests mess
up people's sex lives in his name. Jewish shohets cut live animals' throats
in his name. The achievements of religion in past history - bloody crusades,
torturing inquisitions, mass-murdering conquistadors, culture-destroying
missionaries, legally enforced resistance to each new piece of scientific
truth until the last possible moment - are even more impressive. And
what has it all been in aid of? I believe it is becoming increasingly
clear that the answer is absolutely nothing at all. There is no reason
for believing that any sort of gods exist and quite good reason for believing
that they do not exist and never have. It has all been a gigantic waste
of time and a waste of life. It would be a joke of cosmic proportions
if it weren't so tragic. Richard Dawkins Look at religion like your hand budha the thumb muslims the little finger christianity the index ,hindu the forth and jews the second,,the little finger is far from the thumb etc,,but they all meet in the palm of your hand,,in the center,,there is underlying all religions a center,,which is often love,or peace,or the common goal of unity,,its just that these goals are often internalised and manifest as greed and conflict,, most people no matter what there religious beliefs seek happiness,,,its
a common goal,,,its like the center of the hand If people are intent on using religion to motivate terror or violence, they'll find an excuse there no matter what the actual text says," says David Rodier of American University in Washington, D.C., who is an expert on the world's religions. While the "sword verses" of the Koran take a fair bit of stretching and taking-out-of-context to condone violence against non-believers, the "genocide verses" in the Tanakh (jewish) (specifically the Neviim) are unequivocally in favor of genocide and the forced acquisition of land held by those who dont descend from Israel. Have a look at the actions of Joshua, praised in the Tanakh and by modern Zionists: And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword. Joshua 6:21 (KJV) Pope warns of misuse of religion Pope Benedict XVI has warned against the misuse of religion for political ends, in a speech to Muslim leaders on the second day of his visit to Jordan. who would do such a terrible thing ???:)) "Most religions teach that those who have been specially called, ordained or anointed can also carry out the punishment on behalf of God. The trouble is, there are too many people out there who believe they were ordained or called by God to punish people on his behalf. Yigal Amir who assassinated Israeli prime minister, stated, "I acted alone and on orders from God." Kerry Noble, an activist of the Christian Identity, an organization whose comrades were in "a full and unrelenting state of war" against the US government, takes Exodus 15:3 literally and seriously when it said, "The Lord is a man of war." Noble and his organization believe that it behooves those who follow God to be the same. Christians who go about bombing abortion clinics believe they are carrying out God's work. Zionists believe that they can hasten the coming of the Messiah by seeking to establish the state of Israel by the violent Mosaic method. "
Lies The Ten Commandments said Thou shall not kill. For example,
God kills 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census of the
people (1 Chronicles 21). God also orders the destruction of 60 cities
so that the Israelites can live there. He orders the killing of all the
men, women, and children of each city, and the looting of all of value
(Deuteronomy 3). He orders another attack and the killing of all the living
creatures of the city: men and women, young, and old, as well as oxen sheep,
and asses (Joshua 6). In Judges 21, He orders the murder of all the people
of Jabesh-gilead, except for the virgin girls who were taken to be forcibly
raped and married. When they wanted more virgins, God told them to hide
alongside the road and when they saw a girl they liked, kidnap her and
forcibly rape her and make her your wife! Just about every other page in
the Old Testament has God killing somebody! In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders
the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church!
In total God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265
people murdered. Rock & Holy Rollers Chapter 1
Across the Universe (The Beatles) Sex in the Bible Lot's Family Affair Can't touch this: [31] And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there
is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the
earth: She was infatuated with their male prostitutes, whose members were like
those of donkeys and whose seed came in floods like that of stallions.
Ezekiel 23:20 When God Sanctions Killing, the People Listen New research published in the March issue of Psychological Science may help elucidate the relationship between religious indoctrination and violence, a topic that has gained renewed notoriety in the wake of the September 11th terrorist attacks. In the article, University of Michigan psychologist Brad Bushman and his colleagues suggest that scriptural violence sanctioned by God can increase aggression, especially in believers. Religion pollutes and destroys the minds of children it gets worse! MUCH WORSE !!!!!
